QC / Laboratory Manager

The role involves leading and coordinating daily lab operations and projects to meet customer and business goals.

Key responsibilities include maintaining ISO certifications, ensuring regulatory compliance, managing quality processes like Certificates of Analysis, and overseeing maintenance program transfers.

The role also supports new product formulation, troubleshooting, and communication with external partners. Innovation, safety adherence, cost management, equipment upgrades, staff training, and continuous process improvement are also central to this position.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work closely with the lab team, as well as other key stakeholders, to collaboratively prioritize day-to-day laboratory tasks including analytical testing for CoA for customers, to meet their needs and deadlines while supporting overall business objectives.

• Lead or participate in projects that align with and contribute to the overall objectives of laboratory operations.

• Ensure the maintenance and continuous improvement of ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001, and ISO17025 management systems within the laboratory.

• Implement Control Plans and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) for laboratory processes to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

• Lead internal process for preparation of Certificate of Analysis with system which have escalation criteria set appropriately.

• Design and lead management process for Analytical Service Business in accordance with ISO17025.

• Ensure the timely transfer of the Dip tube preventive maintenance program management to the operations team.

• Provide laboratory support for small-scale blending of new formulations to facilitate the growth of new business initiatives and improvement investigation.

• Provide effective troubleshooting support and incident management to ensure minimal disruptions.

• Act as the primary liaison between the laboratory and external stakeholders, including customers and suppliers, to address technical and materials-related matters.

• Drive the implementations of innovative or up-to-date analytical methods to stay at the forefront of technology.

• Adhere to and enforce all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) rules and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.

• Lead the development, review, and enhancement of laboratory operational planning and procedures to optimize productivity and minimize operational costs.

• Manage laboratory operating expenses to optimize resource allocation and cost-effectiveness.

• Manage the capital purchase process for laboratory metrology and equipment upgrades to align with industry standards and technological advancements.

• Lead or actively participate in safety, reliability, and productivity-related projects within the laboratory's scope.

• Provide comprehensive training to laboratory staff to maintain their skill set and foster flexibility within the team.

• Undertake any other tasks as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to the laboratory's success.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree or more in chemistry, chemical engineering, or material engineering

• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, of which 5 years of supervisory experience around quality control or chemical analysis

Job :

Lead team of NPI Staff/Senior/Engineers/Associate Engineers on:

•           New design reviews and checks against existing package design rules.   

•           Supporting new product/customer feasibility build, characterization and qualifications.

•           Liaise with customers, TPM, PTM on engineering build support with regular conferences calls & meetings.

•           Undertake technology/project transfer from R&D to Operations.

•           Process optimization and improvements in eWLB technology.

•           Taking the lead for risk assessment, FMEA, optimization/DOE (if required) for new products.

•           Taking the lead in coordination with the various operation and support teams (mfg, process, equipment, mfg system, IE, CS etc) in preparing the line for new device startup/ramp. Ensure Excursion Free ramp.

•           Taking the lead for issues that arises from engineering builds.

•           Documentation of product eNPI phase/qual reports.

•           Supporting new customer engagement and fab visits.

•           Set up and track KPIs for department to ensure successful qualification.

•           Ensure timely delivery of all NPI lots.

•           Ensure excursion free ramp of all NPIs.

•           Train and develop team on Process Characterization Techniques using Statistical methods.

•           Liaise with R&D on technology transfers, new products.

•           All aspects relating to eWLB new product qualification and LVM launch to secure future revenue stream.

 

Requirement:

 

•           Requires B. Eng, B. Sc, M. Eng, M. Sc or PhD in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, Physics, Material Science or its equivalent.

•           Minimum 5 years working experience in Wafer Fab or Bump Fab.

•           Minimum 3 years working at Management level.

1. Operational Oversight:
