Job Summary
ESD Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) control programs across semiconductor assembly and test manufacturing operations.
The role ensures compliance with industry standards, including ANSI/ESD S20.20, conducts ESD audits and training, investigates ESD-related failures, and drives continuous improvement initiatives to protect products, equipment, and processes from electrostatic damage.
The position works closely with Production, Quality, Engineering, and Customer teams to support high-yield, reliable manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities
• Manage and maintain the site's ESD Control Program in compliance with ANSI/ESD S20.20 requirements.
• Lead ESD certification, surveillance audits, and recertification activities.
• Conduct ESD risk assessments, gap analyses, and corrective action implementation.
• Perform ESD failure investigations and root cause analysis for manufacturing and customer-related issues.
• Develop and maintain ESD procedures, specifications, work instructions, and training materials.
• Monitor ESD compliance through regular audits, workstation verification, and equipment qualification.
• Analyze ESD-related data and trends to improve manufacturing yield and product reliability.
• Support new product introductions (NPI), process transfers, and equipment installations with ESD requirements.
• Collaborate with Quality, Process Engineering, Facilities, and Production teams to ensure ESD controls are effective.
• Manage ESD monitoring systems, ionizers, grounding systems, wrist straps, footwear testers, and other ESD control equipment.
• Conduct employee training and certification programs on ESD awareness and compliance.
• Interface with customers and auditors regarding ESD program requirements and compliance status.
Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Semiconductor Engineering, Physics, or related field.
• iNARTE Certified ESD Engineer -Must have
• Strong knowledge of ANSI/ESD S20.20 standards and ESD Association guidelines.
• Hands-on experience implementing and maintaining ESD programs in an OSAT, semiconductor, electronics, or high-tech manufacturing environment.
• Experience conducting ESD audits, failure analysis, and corrective action programs.
• Familiarity with semiconductor assembly, test, packaging, and manufacturing processes.
• Knowledge of quality systems such as ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or customer-specific requirements is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
• 3–8 years of ESD engineering experience in an OSAT or semiconductor manufacturing environment.
• Experience supporting customer audits and external certification audits.
• Knowledge of statistical analysis tools, SPC, FMEA, 8D, and CAPA methodologies.
• Familiarity with manufacturing digitalization, data analytics, and automated ESD monitoring systems.

Job:
- Responsible for maintenance and repair of Thin Flim PVD Equipment.
- Perform set-up and conversion to support production
- Develops creative and innovative solutions to problems with considerable initiative and independent thought.
- Acts independently to determine methods and procedures and may provide guidance to less experienced team members
- Communicates with engineers, peer specialist or external vendors to resolve problems and to provide advanced training to less experienced technical specialists
- To identify problems as well as areas for yield and quality improvements and develop methods to improve productivity and reduce manufacturing costs
Requirement:
- Diploma in Electrical / Electronics / Mechanical / Mechatronics Engineering or its equivalent
- 2 years experience in mass production semiconductor manufacturing environment with Thin Flim PVD Equipment .
- Certificate of Electrical/ Electronics/ Mechanical/ Mechatronics Engineering or its equivalent with minimum of 3 years experience in semicon equipment support
- Knowledge of practical applications of concepts, procedures and guidelines to solve complex problems
- Able to work 12 hour rotating shifts
