Job Responsibilities

• Teach Japanese (as a foreign language) across the school; experience teaching IGCSE Japanese is an advantage
• Prepare weekly reports, report cards, and assessments (mostly in English)
• Conduct parent-teacher conferences (PTC) in English
• Participate in administrative duties(in English) and extracurricular activities (ECA) (in Japanese)
• Plan, organize, and support Japanese-related school events
• Collaborate with homeroom teachers for native Japanese classes in both primary and secondary sections

Job Requirements

• AJLC certification or an equivalent qualification is preferred.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience teaching Japanese is required.
• Previous experience in a school environment is an advantage, as the role includes administrative responsibilities, extracurricular activity (ECA) involvement, conducting parent-teacher conferences in English, and preparing report cards and assessments.
• Candidates must conduct a demonstration lesson as part of the interview process (without students present).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English are essential.
• Ability to teach Japanese to non-native Japanese learners using English as the medium of instruction (indirect teaching approach).
• Capable of independently communicating with English-speaking parents, participating in school meetings, and understanding instructions delivered in English.
• Non-native Japanese speakers are welcome to apply, provided they possess JLPT N2 certification or higher (or an equivalent qualification). A demonstration lesson will be required as part of the selection process.
