Service Engineer (System Solutions)

In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and support of integrated system solutions at customer sites. You will play a key role in ensuring system reliability by diagnosing issues, identifying root causes, and delivering effective, long-term solutions.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, analytical, and committed to providing exceptional customer support. You are adaptable, responsive, and willing to go the extra mile to minimize downtime and ensure customers' operations continue running smoothly.
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, office hours: 8.30am - 5.30pm
Note that it is based on scheduled maintenance work, thus the chance of requiring to work after office hours is limited.
Job Responsibilities
- Install, configure, commission, and test integrated hardware and software solutions at customer sites.
- Provide on-site and remote technical support, troubleshooting system issues and performing root cause analysis to implement sustainable corrective actions.
- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance to maximize system availability, reliability, and performance.
- Work closely with engineering, sales, and customers to understand operational requirements and deliver effective technical solutions.
- Perform system validation, testing, and optimization to ensure compliance with performance specifications.
- Conduct user training and prepare clear, accurate technical documentation, maintenance reports, and service records.
- Ensure all service activities comply with company safety, quality, and operational standards.
- Maintain accurate service documentation, including maintenance history, issue resolution, and customer feedback.
- Proactively identify opportunities for system improvements, upgrades, and value-added services that enhance customer operations.
- Respond promptly to customer service requests and demonstrate flexibility to provide support outside normal working hours when required to restore critical equipment and minimize operational downtime.
Job Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline.
- At least 2 years of experience in field service, technical support, or service engineering, preferably within system integration, industrial automation, or related industries.
- Good understanding of automation systems, PLCs, SCADA, industrial sensors, embedded systems, or related control technologies.
- Hands-on experience with diagnostic tools, testing equipment, and technical troubleshooting software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and implement effective corrective solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-first mindset and a proactive approach to service.
- Willingness to travel regularly to customer sites and provide after-hours support when necessary to ensure equipment availability.
- Self-motivated, able to work independently, and an effective team player in a collaborative environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting integrated systems within manufacturing, logistics, warehouse automation, or IT infrastructure environments.
- Knowledge of robotics, motion control, machine vision, or industrial networking technologies.
- Familiarity with Industry 4.0, IIoT, and smart manufacturing solutions.
- Demonstrated commitment to delivering exceptional customer service, taking ownership of issues, and going above and beyond to restore critical systems with minimal disruption.
