Job Purpose
Oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the organization, ensuring accurate accounting practices, regulatory compliance, and efficient financial processes.
Drive financial performance and operational effectiveness through effective management of accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgeting, financial reporting, and continuous process improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Operations Management
Manage daily accounting activities, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), purchasing, and cash flow management.
Ensure financial transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
Financial Reporting & Analysis
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including income statements, balance sheet reconciliations, and other management reports.
Analyse financial performance and provide insights to support business decision-making.
Budgeting & Forecasting
Lead the annual budgeting process and financial forecasting activities.
Monitor budget performance and recommend corrective actions where necessary.
Costing & Cost Control
Maintain standard costing structures and perform annual or quarterly cost roll exercises.
Analyse variances between actual and standard costs, identifying key drivers and recommending improvement measures.
Process Improvement
Review and enhance financial processes and workflows to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Support the implementation and optimization of financial systems.
Identify opportunities for cost savings and operational improvements.
Compliance & Audit Management
Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, tax regulations, and internal policies.
Coordinate and manage relationships with external auditors and support audit activities.
Team Leadership
Lead, coach, and develop finance team members to ensure high performance and continuous professional growth.
Foster a collaborative and accountable team environment.
Strategic Business Support
Partner with senior management and key stakeholders to align financial strategies with business objectives and operational goals.
Provide financial insights and recommendations to support organizational growth and profitability.
Job Requirements & Qualifications
Educational Qualification
Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
Working Experience
Proven experience in a Finance Operations Manager, Finance Analyst, or similar finance leadership role.
Prior experience in an audit environment will be an added advantage.
Required Knowledge
Strong understanding of financial accounting principles and financial reporting.
Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, cost management, and financial planning.
Familiarity with Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and cash flow management.
Good understanding of tax regulations, statutory requirements, and financial compliance standards.
Required Skills & Competencies
Proficient in financial systems (e.g., SAP) and advanced Microsoft Excel.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Experience in internal controls, audit processes, and financial governance.
Ability to analyse financial data and provide recommendations to support business decisions.
Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships.
Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment.
