Senior Executive, Workshop (Special Vehicles)
Working Location & Hours
- Working Location: Queenstown
- Working Hours:
- Monday to Friday: 8.30am – 5.30pm
- Alternate Saturdays: 8.30am – 12.30pm
Responsibilities
As the Senior Executive, Workshop (Special Vehicles), you will oversee workshop operations, drive performance optimization, and support specialized vehicle programmed, including government-related contracts.
Workshop Operations & Performance
- Manage daily workshop operations to achieve monthly turnover and productivity targets through effective utilization of manpower, equipment, and tools
- Monitor key operational metrics, including workshop loading, work-in-progress (WIPs), rollover vehicles, backorders, expenses, and productivity reports
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency, productivity, and overall performance
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) regulations
- Maintain a safe, clean, and well-organized workshop environment
- Conduct regular Toolbox Meetings and reinforce safety best practices across teams
Special Vehicles Operations
- Oversee end-to-end Special Vehicles workflow, including job planning, on-site support, and progress tracking
- Coordinate closely with key stakeholders and external agencies to ensure timely updates, service delivery, and operational alignment
Materials, Inventory & Logistics
- Manage materials planning, procurement, inventory control, and warehouse operations for special vehicle parts and tools
- Ensure proper parts issuance, warranty handling, and accurate documentation for all materials movement
- Liaise with vendors to negotiate pricing, delivery timelines, and ensure compliance with technical specifications
- Issue Certificates of Conformance (COC) and ensure adherence to required quality standards
Commercial & Administrative
- Oversee quotation, invoicing, and delivery processes to ensure accuracy and timely execution
- Support parts sales and administrative functions within the Special Vehicles division
Continuous Improvement
- Continuously review and improve systems, workflows, and processes to enhance operational efficiency and service delivery
- Undertake ad hoc projects and assignments as required by management
Requirements
- Degree in Engineering, Automotive, or a related field
- Proven experience in workshop operations management, preferably in automotive or specialized vehicle environments
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing teams
- Familiarity with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) regulations and safety practices
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders, vendors, and external agencies
