Job Description:
As a Senior Linux Engineer / Team Lead, you are responsible to manage, maintain, and optimize our Linux-based infrastructure and associated technologies within our hybrid IT environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the health, performance, and security of servers and systems while collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement and support enterprise-wide solutions. 

What will you do?
  • Install new and/or rebuild Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Red Hat OpenShift, Oracle Linux and related infrastructure components in accordance to customer’s governance & audit requirements.
  • Maintain Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for recurring tasks, such as OS patching, backup & recovery, OS hardening and/or deviations, together with the customer to ensure the processes are in line and up to date as necessary.
  • Perform daily system checks and monitoring and to highlight if any abnormalities are found, and to participate in troubleshooting and service recovery. 
  • Participate infrastructure/OS support with other day 2 project teams, as well as day 1 implementation teams for rollouts and enhancements. 
  • Execute infrastructure lifecycle events such as (Add/Modify/Change of users accounts), software updates (OS kernel, agent/client software, etc.)
  • Work with related infrastructure towers (e.g. Storage, Network, etc.) as an integrated service delivery team to fulfil customer’s objectives. 
  • Hands-on involvement for monthly and ad-hoc OS patching as necessary for the Linux servers/containers under the service contract.
  • Perform ongoing performance monitoring and recommend improvements, software upgrades, and resource optimization as required. 
  • Perform monthly performance reporting and capturing of server health statistics to assist with capacity planning. 
  • Assess and Resolve infrastructure related incidents and problems and provide support to application teams. 
  • Escalate to principal vendors and/or 3rd party vendors and facilitate their work as required within the customer’s premises & regulations.
  • Rotating standby to work on night or weekend tasks when required.
  • Lead a small team and be a mentor to juniors
Qualifications 
The ideal candidate should possess:
  • 5 to 7 years of hands-on experience in Linux 
  • Experience in Windows Server 2019, Window Powershell (scripting), Network
  • Routing and Switching and Microsoft Active Directory
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) certification is a plus 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related discipline
