ACCOUNTANT

Location: Johor Bahru

Key Responsibilities

Financial Accounting & Reporting

• Manage the full spectrum of accounting functions, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts

Receivable (AR), General Ledger (GL), Fixed Assets, as well as bank and balance sheet

reconciliations.

• Perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities, ensuring timely and accurate

financial reporting.

• Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring the timely and accurate recording of financial

transactions.

• Maintain accurate and complete accounting records, ensuring all financial transactions are

properly recorded and supported by relevant documentation.

• Process vendor invoices and payments, ensuring timely settlement, accurate recording, and

compliance with company policies and payment terms.

• Prepare and issue customer invoices, monitor collections, follow up on outstanding balances,

and reconcile customer accounts to ensure timely receipt of payments.

• Prepare periodic financial statements, management reports, financial analyses, and ad hoc

reports to support informed business decision-making.

• Monitor cash flow and assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.

Taxation & Statutory Compliance

• Prepare and submit Sales and Service Tax (SST) returns and E-Invoice in compliance with

regulatory deadline and requirements.

• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax regulations, company policies, and

statutory requirements.

• Liaise with auditors, bankers, tax agents, company secretary, and relevant statutory authorities

to facilitate audits, regulatory compliance, and corporate governance.

Finance Operations & Business Support

• Support payroll accounting and finance-related activities.

• Assist in setting up new Malaysia entities and statutory registrations.

• Provide finance support to related companies and business functions.

Process Improvement & Internal Controls

• Enhance accounting processes, internal controls, and reporting accuracy.

• Support finance system improvements and automation initiatives.

Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

• Professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, CA, CIMA) is an advantage.

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in handling a full set of accounts.

• Audit and multi-entity/group finance experience preferred.

• Good knowledge of accounting standards, financial reporting, and statutory compliance.

• Familiarity with ERP/accounting systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Xero, MYOB,

QuickBooks, etc.) is an advantage.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.

• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

• Detail-oriented with high accuracy.

• Able to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.

• Good communication and teamwork skills with a proactive mindset.
