Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead monthly inventory closing process and ensure timely completion.
- Ensure system interface between WMS and ERP (EBS) is properly controlled during closing.
- Reconcile inventory quantities between WMS and ERP systems and resolve discrepancies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to investigate and troubleshoot inventory variances.
- Prepare and analyze inventory aging reports and reconcile with Trial Balance.
- Perform Goods-in-Transit (GIT) accruals, including freight, duties, and related costs.
- Reconcile GIT balances and prepare reports for management and reporting purposes.
- Conduct inventory impairment assessment and prepare necessary provisions.
- Perform reconciliation of inventory transactions, including adjustments and material movements.
- Monitor and report inventory discrepancies, including stolen or damaged goods.
- Support preparation of inventory forecasts in collaboration with Supply Chain team.
- Analyze inventory costing and ensure accurate inventory valuation.
- Assist in annual inventory physical counts and ensure proper documentation.
- Support audit requirements by preparing schedules and responding to auditor queries.
- Monitor inventory transfers and ensure timely movement across distribution centers.
- Ad-hoc duties assigned as deemed appropriate.
Qualifications & Experience (Skills / Knowledge / Attributes)
- This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or an equivalent professional qualification.
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in inventory accounting or audit.
- Solid understanding of inventory accounting principles, costing methodologies, and reconciliation processes.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP) and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUPS, pivot tables, and data analysis.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities with high attention to detail
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
- Sound knowledge of accounting regulations and standards, including US GAAP.
- Practical experience using accounting systems and tools to support financial operations.
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and data integrity
