Responsibilities

  • Responsible for supporting the planning, engineering coordination, execution and close-out of the 2027 Mechanical Turnaround and selected plant improvement projects.
  • To Develop turnaround work packages, coordinating multidisciplinary activities, managing contractors, monitoring execution progress and ensuring safe, quality and timely delivery of turnaround scopes.
  • To support the execution of minor CAPEX and reliability improvement projects before and after the turnaround.

Turnaround Engineering & Planning

  • Develop and maintain turnaround worklists in collaboration with Operations, Maintenance and Engineering teams.
  • Review turnaround scope and prepare detailed execution packages including methodology, manpower requirements, equipment, special tools, cranes, scaffolding and logistics.
  • Perform field verification to confirm scope, access requirements and execution methodology.
  • Coordinate engineering reviews to ensure all required drawings, procedures, permits and technical documents are available before execution.
  • Assist in developing integrated turnaround schedules and identify critical path activities.
  • Participate in turnaround readiness reviews, scope freeze meetings and risk assessments.
  • Support procurement of long lead materials, specialist services and rental equipment required for turnaround execution.
  • Coordinate pre-turnaround activities to ensure work fronts are ready for execution.

Turnaround Execution

  • Coordinate daily turnaround activities to ensure work progresses safely, efficiently and according to schedule.
  • Monitor contractor productivity, work progress and milestone achievement.
  • Identify schedule risks and propose recovery plans where required.
  • Resolve site technical issues together with Maintenance, Operations and Engineering teams.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary activities involving Mechanical, E&I, Civil, Inspection and Operations teams.
  • Monitor execution quality and ensure compliance with engineering standards and plant procedures.
  • Support turnaround control room activities including progress reporting and schedule updates.
  • Participate in shutdown, startup and commissioning activities after completion of maintenance works.
  • Support night shift turnaround execution during the April 2027 outage as assigned.

Project Engineering

  • Support execution of minor CAPEX, reliability improvement and plant modification projects.
  • Coordinate engineering design reviews, procurement, contractor activities and installation works.
  • Prepare project schedules, monitor progress and ensure timely completion.
  • Coordinate Management of Change (MOC) activities where applicable.
  • Participate in commissioning, mechanical completion and project close-out documentation.

Contractor & Cost Management

  • Coordinate contractors and vendors to ensure work is executed safely and efficiently.
  • Verify contractor progress, manpower utilization and completed work quantities.
  • Monitor turnaround and project expenditure against approved budgets.
  • Support preparation of project justifications, one-pager proposals and management presentations where required.

Continuous Improvement

  • Participate in turnaround post-review sessions and capture lessons learnt.
  • Identify opportunities to improve turnaround planning, execution methodology and contractor performance.
  • Support development of standard turnaround procedures, templates and engineering documentation.

Requirements

  • Experience in Mechanical Engineering with at least 5 years’ of maintenance experience in Oil & Gas / Petrochemical industry or Diploma holder with 10 years’ maintenance experience Oil & Gas /Petrochemical industry preferred.
  • Experience in at least two plant outages of over 150,000labor hours.
  • Experience in a Gas Plant such as Gasification/SMR/ASU is an advantage
